Why We Volunteer

Why We volunteer.jpg

At CFG we not only want to improve the lives of people and clients we work with but the people and communities that surround us as well. We volunteer to grow, to learn new perspectives and to strengthen our community and company as a whole. As an agency we feel that giving back is one of the most important parts of our company and some of the best memories we have as a group. It brings us together outside of the office and gives us a chance to make real connections that can have a lasting impact on everyone that participates.

We find that volunteering in our community has many benefits. Although there are many, we feel that these are the three most valuable:

1) Builds relationships.

Volunteering allows you to meet different people, from different backgrounds and walks of life. It gives you the chance to form real relationships that can have a lasting impact on your life.

2) Benefits society.

Becoming part of the local community is one of the best reasons to volunteer. You support your local neighborhoods, school systems, and youth in the community, which overall enhance the community you live in.

3) It’s good for you.

Volunteering decreases your stress levels because it allows you to focus on something that is larger than yourself. Your overall sense of life satisfaction increases because it gives you a sense of purpose, positive emotions and high confidence levels.

Here at CFG, our volunteer efforts are primarily within the special needs community via a program we have at our company called SpecialCare, which supports individuals and families that have a loved one with a special need in a multitude of ways. We volunteer and support nonprofits such as Waypoint Adventures, Jewish and Family Children’s Service, Autism Alliance, Special Olympics, Triangle, Inc., and EPIC.

At the end of the day, people choose to volunteer for different reasons. For some, volunteering is a way to make a difference to the people around them. For others, it is a way to engage and impact a larger community. Regardless of your intentions, choosing to volunteer is rewarding. So get out there and make an impact in the lives around you!
